For the longest
time, I could only find one reference for the Idle
Hour Theatre in Darlington Maryland ( Harford County
) . In 1928 through 1931, the theatre sat 200.
Further research has found the
theatre building is still standing, as seen above .
Located at 1104-6 Main Street - Built in 1925 , an early Commercial Style Shed Building , covered in White Stucco , built when the nearby Conowingo Dam when up - had housed Stores - is locally known as the Mick Building. The name Idle Hour was used around the Country for movie houses, although I only found one other Idle Hour in Maryland ( so far ) , the Idle Hour on Howard Street in downtown Baltimore.
