608 Columbia ( at Main ) And the New Theatre -703 Main Street .  .......................................................................................

Torn down just two years ago, The Majestic was one of two movie houses found in town, the other being the New Theatre at 703 Main Street , near Sulphur Run ( photo below ) .  The Majestic Theatre was built in the 1920's , seating 362 people, and was finally torn down just a few years ago.     The New Theatre was not mentioned after the 1930's, and was operated by the Southern Amusement Company in early years, and that company also operated the Dreamland Theatre  in Frostburg Maryland , around 1908. .................................... .....................
