............. ..............................................................Thomas Paul Photo 2003   The Underworld Adventures of Paul's Puppets ! In the story of the " Little Mermaid " , Paul's Puppets had a complete ocean of puppet fish. Above are the marionette blue fish, which were designed to swim in a school. To the upper right, the moorish fish swims alone. Below left are the goldfish, and next to them, the codfish.        Two of my favorite Paul's puppets are the diver, in a complete suit and the mermaid. ( There are more mermaid photos below ). Finally on the right,  is the crab. All these puppets are marionettes  (string  puppets) , and I can only imagine the effort it took to keep them moving during a puppet show .     Photos from The Paul Ofper Auction site, unless otherwise noted.	....................... ......... Baltimore is known well for it's crabs and Paul's Puppets made sure one was  included in this show.

Above, the mermaid and the diver ready for auction in 2005. When she was first designed, she lacked the " covers" in front. That problem was soon corrected, at the urging of Edie Paul.	...................
