![]() An early 1920's ad for the
Roosevelt Theatre for the film " The Heart of A
Fool " .
|

There
were several
smaller black theatres that opened up just off
of the
main entertainment hub of Pennsylvania Avenue.
The
Roosevelt Theatre operated on Biddle Street near
the
intersection of Druid Hill Avenue in West
Baltimore.
The
site of the old Roosevelt Theatre in West
Baltimore is impossible to locate today. The
entire
500 block of West Biddle Street is gone, and
is now
a part of the new Martin Luther King Kr. Blvd., a
popular
cut thru from downtown to uptown. This school, at
the intersection of Martin King Jr. Blvd. and
Druid Hill Ave is the best I can find of the
location of the old theatre.
